How do I Block Spam Emails from WhatsApp

WhatsApp is a well known messaging app for many different platforms. Although it's a very popular app with many users, the downside is that users can end up with spam in their Gmail in the form of scam emails and/or phishing attempts. WhatsApp doesn't typically send out emails without you contacting them first, so you should be cautious if you receive one that looks like it's from them. Though scammers will try their best to send you fake emails that look like it's official communication from WhatsApp. If you're careful, you'll hopefully be able to tell the difference between a legitimate email from WhatsApp and a phishing email, but it's not always that easy.

  • Install Block Sender for Gmail by clicking the "Install" button found in the upper right-hand corner of this site. The installation won't take long. Open Gmail when it is done.
  • After signing up for a Block Sender account and linking your Gmail account to Block Sender, open the unwanted email scam, and click the "Block" button on the messages toolbar.
  • Select the "Emails from this sender" option.
