How to Block Someone on Gmail

Have you ever wondered how to block people on Gmail? If you have, you are not alone.

On an everyday basis, we all have to come across unwanted emails. Although in most cases, skipping those junk emails seems to be the viable option, the wastage of time and energy caused by such a repeated manual filtering process can be ridiculously high over time. In fact, trying to skip though all the unwanted emails in order to read the important ones can cause severe stress when you have to do that every day!

So how do you deal with the issue? Can you block people on Gmail? Is there a simpler way to block Gmail contacts, without having to go through the time-consuming and cumbersome in-built blocking process?

Well, fortunately, a new application called Block Sender aims to make filtering of unwanted messages easier than ever. The application works for Gmail, and allows you to block contacts, websites, and even subject lines.

Using the application is a very straightforward process, and you can easily block someone from Gmail by using the following simple steps:

Step 1: First of all, you need to install the application. For this purpose, either visit Google Chrome app store and search for ‘Block Sender’, or directly enter on your browser. Click ‘Install Block Sender’, and then click ‘Add’ on the ‘Add to Chrome’ dialog box that appears.

Step 2: Now open Gmail, and you should find a button called ‘Block’ right next to the button with the delete symbol when you open any particular email.

Step 3: Now click on the drop down menu on the right side of the ‘Block’ button, and select ‘Options’.

Step 4: Under ‘Block Button (default action)’, choose ‘Block all email from the specific sender’.

Step 5: Under ‘Blocked Messages Should’, select whether you will want the block messages in trash or to be archived.

Step 6: Check ‘Display an undo notification’ in case you think you are going to need that option, and enter the number of seconds the undo button should be displayed after you block an email.

Step 7: Now go back to your inbox, and open any message sent by the person you intend to no longer receive messages from.

Step 8: While the message is open, locate the ‘Block’ button, and click the button once. Ignore the undo option in case it appears.

That is all. Using the simple process outlined above, you can block anyone from filling your Gmail unnecessarily with the help of the Gmail Block Sender app.
