Prevent Emails from Facebook updates Cluttering Your Gmail Inbox

Facebook updates are the emails you see, for example, asking you if you know this person. There are at least two different email senders (update and notifications) from Facebook. These are the standard senders from Facebook. Basically, it’s attempting to provide you with a means to increase the number of people in your friends list even if you never felt like it or have no need to do so. But Facebook never seems to think otherwise. What this results in is a large amount of unwanted emails cluttering your Gmail inbox.

Follow these simple instructions to install Block Sender and start blocking unwanted emails:

  1. Install Block Sender. Go to the Block Sender website and click the labeled button to install. It’s a small and very quick download.
  2. Log into Gmail. Be sure it’s the correct login information for your Gmail account.
  3. Open the unwanted email. Locate and open the email in question for blocking.
  4. Click the Block button. It’s located on the messages toolbar next to the Delete button.
  5. Close and complete. Close the email you just blocked and do whatever you like with it. Send it to the trash folder, keep it as evidence, or leave it.

Gmail does an excellent job of blocking spam, but sometimes you just want to go the extra mile and prevent some mail from ever reaching your account.
